I didn’t even have to check the link. I grew up trying to build my own minipedia of the entire cast, right along with my collection of 40-50 of the novel-formatted collections from Fawcett Crest back in the day.
The kid’s name is Franklin. Last name never revealed.
Weird, this is.

To quote another Franklin – “It Ain’t Easy Bein’ White, It Ain’t Easy Bein’ Brown,” huzzah.

Huh… I actually “saw” Franklin as darker than Peppermint Patty until I had it pointed out that they had the same skin tone in this re-coloring. Weird.

Probably an accident due to a mistaken assumption that all the Peanuts characters are white (or beige). It’s not like Franklin got a lot of ink or anything.

Fantastic. Bring on the reactionary calls of “RACISM!!!” and drag out Sharpton for the talking-heads circuit.
Honestly who gives a Christ?

He looks like “5″ (another “remember-him?” Peanuts character) with a bushy mohawk.

What I find interesting is that Shultz had such a simple style, but I was still able to recognise Franklin even when he was miscolored.
