Nope, serious.

Superman left Earth and then came back. So you could say that he was the Prodigal Son.

Lex Luthor was going to sacrifice most of the people of the world. So you could say that he was playing the part of Cain.

Lois Lane lost the most important person in her life (Superman) but then gained a new spouse. You could draw parallels to the story of Job.

If I look really hard I can find bible stories all over the movie. And if I look really hard I can find bible stories all over ‘Dude, Where’s My Car.’ But for the most part I don’t see much of a comparison to Jesus in Superman unless I look for it. I think a lot fewer people would have noticed anything if the media hadn’t suggested it to them.

I don’t think the Jesus stuff was intentional. There was one moment when he was falling and his arms fell a certain way that I thought of it, but that was all I noticed and that was no big deal.

The stalker stuff bugged me, though. Hovering outside Lois’ house using his X-ray vision is pretty much the same thing as sitting on a rooftop with high powered binoculars. Either way he was spying on her and her family inside her home.
