‘I Am Legend’ comic movie references

January 8th, 2008

Michael Moran with the Times Online shares some images from I Am Legend, namely the huge Batman/Superman billboard and a Green Lantern poster that I totally missed when I saw the film.

One poster I think I remember seeing during one of the scenes in the video store was for a Teen Titans movie. Anyone else remember seeing it, or did I just dream that?

you didnt dream it. there was a poster behind Hank the video store clerk with the current Teen Titans logo. I spotted that right away, but I missed the GL poster.

There should have been a poster for a Wonder Woman movie.

Then again, we’ll probably get Star Trek holosuites before a Wonder Woman film gets made.

  3. RobC Says:

The GL poster (which looks a lot like an Alex Ross poster) was on an outside building over Will Smith’s shoulder. In addition to that, I saw the Superman/Batman ad in Times Square and Teen Titans in the videostore.

BTW, does anyone else think James Marsden (Superman Returns, Enchanted) would make a great Hal Jordan?

  4. Steve J. Says:

I think I do agree with you, RobC. It never occurred to me, since Marsden usually plays “the other guy” roles.

  5. Michael Moran Says:

The GL poster is in my Times story too(although it’s kind of fuzzy) – you need to click on the little blue arrows underneath the main pic to see it.

James Marsden’s already been Cyclops – wouldn’t it be kind of weird for him to be GL?

I think the John Stewart incarnation will be one the studio eventually goes with. Although when..now there’s a question

Wow, James Marsden really would be a perfect Hal Jordan.
I’d never thought of that either.
Maybe his upcoming romantic comedy with the actress from “Knocked Up” will be a big hit and it’ll up his celebrity profile enough to make a GL movie happen.

    Maybe not.
