South Koreans still can’t get enough of wine manga

This blog post from “South Africa’s leading independent drinks commentator” makes The Times roughly the 123rd news outlet to discover the hold the wine manga Kami no Shizuku (Drops of God) has on South Korea.

As I mentioned in April the series, by brother-sister team Agi Tadashi and Okimoto Agi, is seen as a big reason for the 30-percent jump in wine imports in the past two years.

The Times blog post is interesting because it says the series has sold “over one million copies” in South Korea. However, in April that figure was at about 700,000. Either The Times’ number is off, or South Koreans have snatched up a lot of copies of Kami no Shizuku in eight months. I’m going with the latter.
