The lack of profanity makes it too unreal.
I would have been using profanity so frequently people would think i was tourette’s smurf.

Shut the smurf up.

It’s a trailer, justme. Wait for the whole film.

I was excited for this movie…then the negatives hit.
1). PG-13
2). Under 90 minutes running time
3). People being stupid as usual (standing around taking photos of the ****ing head?!)
Maybe if an uncut/unrated DVD is released I’ll buy it. That means it would be R and hopefully close to two hours in length.

I cant see it for some reason
tell me what the hell it is!!!!
December 14th, 2007 at 3:04 pm
The under 90 minutes is really what worries me the most.
I’m still really psyched for it though.

I wonder what the moster is…

If you can’t see it and you’re using Firefox, be sure to disable Adblock if you’re using that add-on. You can turn it back on when you’re finished.

J-brams is pretty awful at characterization, IMHO. This seems like his typical “young” characters in a different situation. They could very well be the cast of Felicity or Syd Bristow’s friends on Alias. I don’t get what all of the hype is about.

looks cool…but the more i watch it, …well, being in ny during 911, it looks a lot like that day in a way…even though its night and all.
love that it gives nothing away…but sure hope the hand held eases up a bit…was getting dizzy.
anyway, its on my must see list.

I am with Jimmy and couldn’t help thinking of 9-11 (the cloud of debris especially). I was excited to see this when I saw the first trailer before Transformers and I still am. I have no problem with it being only 90 minutes. I think most movies are half an hour too long usually anyway.

Wicked! give me more!
December 14th, 2007 at 11:05 pm
Maaaaan… they’re gonna catch some hell for this from tight-assed talking heads on cable news due to the remarkable visual similarities to 9-11. Won’t stop me from seeing it, though…

…One of the leaks that’s come out is that it’s a reimaging of two different “classic” giant monster movie films: The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms and The Giant Behemoth, with a touch of Gorgo thrown in. Not only are they dealing with a giant sea monster, they’re also dealing with it’s crablouse-like offpsring *and* a disease being spread by the big monster.

I’m rooting for the monster to smish those annoying yuppies.

JJ Abrams gives his introduction to this clip from the set of the new Star Trek movie. Shhhh!
December 15th, 2007 at 6:50 pm
All I could think the whole time was “So, it’s sort of ‘The Blair Witch Project,’ but with something that’s sort of Godzilla… With the chick from ‘The Class’ that John Ritter’s son was gonna get with.”
December 16th, 2007 at 4:53 am
It’s by J.J. Abrams.
That alone should indicate it’s going to suck.
The man is like the bastard offspring of Michael Bay and Akiva Goldsman.
I have no idea how anyone could like anything he’s done.
December 16th, 2007 at 7:11 pm
^^^^
it’s not by abrams
it’s written by drew goddard (Buffy, Angel, lost) and directed by a new guy (from TV).

I hope it will be more real, when I’ll watch the entire film…

Oh joy. I have to pay to watch people act like idiots? I have work for that. I thought that no one would top the little girl from “War of the Worlds” (for her constant X-men Banshee imitations) in the please-kill-them-now category, but the “Rob! Rob! I saw it!” guy deserves an honorable mention just for bad timing.

Did I actually here someone say “mommy” after the head hit? And doesn’t the Statue’s head (which I remember going through on my Junior class trip) seem too small to anyone else? I mean, the crown is comprised of small windows. I like the concept of this (disaster movie from a very small perspective) and the “docu-drama” feel, but I don’t feel the execution of the concept is really being pulled off well (and I agree, if it was me, I wouldn’t be repeating “oh my god, oh my god, this shouldn’t be happening” I’d be saying “F*CK! F*CK!!! F*CK!!! what the F*CK was that?!”.
