–California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is apparently distancing himself from one of the characters he played on the big screen, Conan, who will appear in an upcoming video game:
Schwarzenegger has “no association with this game,” said the governor’s spokesman Aaron McLear, who did not elaborate on how the governor feels about the character becoming a video game. Schwarzenegger is fighting for a law to restrict the sale of violent video games and “Conan” would be among those regulated.
–Artist Tim Sale on being colorblind:
It’s limiting, obviously, but in comics it has never really mattered that much – in fact there are many prominent comics artists through the years that have been colour-blind, artists such as Alex Toth and John Byrne. In comic design there is generally a separate artist who does the coloring. And with computers nowadays, there are many ways I can work with colour artists, so it all works out fine.

Basically, you can boil all this down to one rule: when discussing art, you should seriously consider the intentions of the author(s) (meaning both writer and artist, if these are separate people). There’s plenty of room for criticism based on personal preference, of course, but there are often reasons for the choices which artists make.
