After testing new, if temporary and somewhat controversial, designs for other members of the Riverdale gang, Archie Comics is debuting a “Dynamic New Look” for Jughead. In timeless Riverdale, “Dynamic New Look” apparently means “Lollapalooza ‘97 attendee.”
This DNL rolls out in Jughead’s Double Digest #139-142, with art by Joe Staton. It’s “a story that will shock you,” the official release assures. You can see the covers for the other three issues at the link.

Wow. That’s some butt ugly art. Obviously the guy can draw but that style is hideous.

I am a Joe Staton fan and have fond memories of lots of his work. That having been said, the figure on the right in the foreground is a woman from the eye line up, and a man from the nose to the jaw.
