  1. sluggo Says:

Not bad, but I could use a little more of the collage effect on the movie posters for the earlier films, with various villians and locales surrounding Indy. May be that they don’t want to reveal anything yet, though.

  2. Matt Says:

Nice, except that it would seem to indicate that the new Indy film has taken the questionable strategy of just pretending Harrison Ford isn’t looking old and decrepit these days.

  3. elvee Says:

It’s not the years, it’s the mileage.

  4. Caats19 Says:

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  5. Chris Says:

why do i get the feeling this is going to be more like Temply of Doom than Raiders of the Lost Ark?

“Nice, except that it would seem to indicate that the new Indy film has taken the questionable strategy of just pretending Harrison Ford isn’t looking old and decrepit these days.”

I don’t think he looks decrepit at all, and I’m pretty sure he could still hand you your ass, Sonny.

  8. jimmy palmiotti Says:

    smart. back lit.

  9. sluggo Says:

“why do i get the feeling this is going to be more like Temple of Doom than Raiders of the Lost Ark?”

In what way? And would that be a bad thing? I love Temple of Doom and actually feel like it’s the one that reflects that pulpy, Saturday matinee serial feel the best.

  10. Brian Langlois Says:

I agree with you, Sluggo. Temple of Doom is my favorite one, but I love them all. Considering The Last Crusade was so much like Raiders, I’d like another Temple of Doom.

  11. Joe Perez Says:

I get a Temple of Doom vibe. In my mind
Raiders>Temple of Doom>Last Crusade, so thats a good.

This past weekend they had the Young Indy movie which Harrison Ford has the cameos in the Prologue & Epilogue on the History Channel.

  12. Martin Says:

We should all look as good at 60 as Harrison Ford does. After seeing the leaked pix of him in action and the return of Karen Allen, I’m all for it.

  13. kalorama Says:

    Karen Allen’s in this?! Outstanding.

  14. DaVeO Says:

Most anticipated movie of next year, bar none. Nothing will beat Indy at the box office. Not Harry Potter, not Iron Man, not Narnia, not Hulk.

Oh, and I like the poster too. :)

  15. Retconned Says:

This looks great. PERFECT. Glad to see Drew Struzan continued on the Indy posters…he’s so great.

Honestly…I don’t want this movie to suck! I’m looking forward to it and I don’t want a “Phantom Menace” level letdown.

Agreed with the other posters that this had a “Temple of Doom” feel. Are those Mayan/Inca ruins? They look Latin American….perhaps we have an amateur/pro archeologist that can confirm?

  16. Erwin Michael Green Says:

Is this going to be in continuity after “The Lost Crusade” or before? If so, he should be as spry as cat after drinking from the “Grail Cup”!!!!

  17. Statham Says:

‘Honestly…I don’t want this movie to suck! I’m looking forward to it and I don’t want a “Phantom Menace” level letdown.’

No chance. Spielberg is directing, and he’s probably a better director now than he was back when he made Indy’s 1-3.

Although, Lucas did apparently curb some of the wackier ideas Spielberg had for the trilogy, as producer. Maybe the two are good for each other and cancel out any shit the other generates, in which case it’s a pity Spielberg did nothing while Lucas made Episodes 1-3.

  18. Richard J. Marcej Says:

I believe the “enemy” in this film will be communists and take place in the 1950’s, which would make sense since it’s years after the first three films and most Nazi’s are all gone (or hiding in Argentina) and would explain why they’re all oder.

Though will they mention that Brody is dead or just out of town?

  19. Ira Henkin Says:

My understanding is that it takes place in 1957

  20. q-cho Says:

    espero que se buena

  21. Paul Morris Says:

Yep, it takes place in the 50’s. I saw a photo somewhere with Indy at the school he works at and there was a picture hanging behind him with Brody on it. And as far as Matt slamming on Ford because of his age, dude, go to Indianajones.com and see the few pics leaked during shooting. For that matter, all Indy fans should check it out. As Martin said, we should all look as good in our 60’s. Besides, what’s wrong in getting older? Someday Matt, ya pup, it’ll be your turn someday. I guess we should just sweep ya under the rug once you get in your 50’s. Sheesh! There’s nothing wrong in getting older. It’s nice to see some of these older 80’s characters coming back and kicking butt; John McClean, Rocky, Indy, etc. Long live the old fogeys!!

  22. President Kang Says:

Does that Crystal Skull look very space-alien-y to anyone else, or is it just me?

  23. dj4our Says:

This is a great teaser and I can’t wait for the next one too. My ONLY problem is it woulda been nice to see Indy looking a wee bit older. He looks the same as he did in Last Crusade. Still, I’m really lookin’ forward to this….and seeing Marion Ravenwood again….YES!

  24. Dan McNamara Says:

“…in which case it’s a pity Spielberg did nothing while Lucas made Episodes 1-3.”

Actually, Spielberg directed several scenes in Episode III. I don’t have the exact details on me, but to my knowledge there were three scenes he did. The first was the large space battle over the capitol, and then two other CGI battle scenes.

  25. Brian Knippenberg Says:

“Although, Lucas did apparently curb some of the wackier ideas Spielberg had for the trilogy, as producer.”

See, I’ve always heard it was the other way around.

“Does that Crystal Skull look very space-alien-y to anyone else, or is it just me?”

    There’s a new article up on USAToday.com

    http://www.usatoday.com/life/movies/news/2007-12-09-indiana-jones_N.htm

    which mentions…
“The artifact of the title is inspired by real quartz sculptures of disputed origins that are carved in a way that defies the natural structure of the crystal.

‘The theory is they are shaped by higher powers or alien powers or came from another world, or an ancient Mayan civilization had the powers,’ Marshall says.”

“Actually, Spielberg directed several scenes in Episode III. I don’t have the exact details on me, but to my knowledge there were three scenes he did. The first was the large space battle over the capitol, and then two other CGI battle scenes.”

Spielberg only helped with the previsualization of certain scenes and storyboarding. He didn’t actually direct any parts of the film.

  26. Doctor Chaos Says:

    My 1st thought: Great!

My 2nd thought: Urrgh…I hope this isn’t terrible. Movies are so bad these days.

  27. Jeff Niffen Says:

I’m thinking this is a teaser poster. There will most likely be a full montage poster closer to release date. All I can say is… Drew Struzan is the man!
