For a brief moment I had a panic attack after seeing Stephen DeStefano’s post on Venture Bros. season three storyboards. My mind jumped to a dark place where the third season of the show languished in development hell because of the writer’s strike, but luckily I remembered creator Jackson Publick already mentioned they were done with the writing back in October. Thank goodness.

It’s also writing for animation, which, like comics, is not covered in the WGA strike.

Some animated shows are covered, some aren’t.

Jackson Publick specifically said that Venture Brothers isn’t. This is what he said when someone asked about it on his blog:
“It won’t affect the writing of season 4 whatsoever. I’m in the WGA (member in poor standing), but The Venture Bros. isn’t a Guild show. Much of animation writing in general isn’t covered by the Guild, though there is a strong lobby amongst the East Coast WGA members to change that. ”
So not only will the strike not affect season 3, the one currently under production, but there is no chance of it affecting season 4 no matter how long it lasts.
