I Am Legend teases fictional future flicks
The MTV Movie Blog talks to I Am Legend director Francis Lawrence about some sight gags writer Akiva Goldsman dropped into the movie, including a billboard for a Superman vs. Batman flick:
In “Legend,” Will Smith’s character is one of the few humans left alive in 2012, following a massive 2009 virus attack. As he wanders the abandoned, filth-ridden streets of Manhattan, the world is frozen in time from the moment that the rabies-like disease hit. When “Legend” hits theaters December 14th, eagle-eyed viewers will be able to spot all sorts of futuristic billboards, including one that features the iconic symbols of Batman and Superman.
“That was Akiva’s department; Akiva became the cheerleader for every movie poster and [inside] thing you’ll see in this movie,” grinned Lawrence, who previously directed the Keanu Reeves flick “Constantine.” “So, because we’re in a video store, you’d see movie posters around, and when we’re in Times Square so you’d see movie posters around.”
He notes that the billboard is purely fictional and not a sign of things to come.

Cage up for another Ghost Rider
Comingsoon.net says the usually sequel-reluctant Nicholas Cage is interested in doing a second Ghost Rider film and a third National Treasure.
“All they have to do is call, and I would love to see that happen,” he said about reprising the role of Johnny Blaze. “That would be fun.”
South Park: Legit, free and online
Reuters reports that MTV Networks is making every episode of South Park available online for free:
The decision from the biggest division of media conglomerate Viacom Inc (VIAb.N: Quote, Profile, Research) follows on the heels of the “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,” whose popularity online has helped boost television viewership.
MTV Networks’s Comedy Central network began offering in October some 13,000 “Daily Show” videos dating back to 1999.
Offering versions of TV shows online has not hurt television ratings, and may have actually helped. “One does not diminish the other by any stretch of the imagination. That is kind of our hat trick,” MTV Networks Chairman and Chief Executive Judy McGrath said at the Reuters Media Summit in New York on Wednesday.

Can Goldsman really do anything to make up for batman & Robin? I always thought that writing that movie should be like -1 Oscar. They call you up and say “Yeah, you were gonna get the Oscar for A Beautiful Mind, but you wrote Batman & Robin, so they just cancel each other out.”
