TCJ also has the best reviews around, great editorials, great history pieces, and they always, always have some great old comics. There's just so much one can get from each issue. I buy about three issues a year. I will say that it's coverage of comics seems to have narrowed in recent years. There are not that many indie creators I simply must read long interviews with. Picks this week are Northlanders #1, The Twelve #0, and the always entertaining Order #5. I'll also give Vinyl Underground #3 a look which is entertaining but painfully stereotypical Vertigo. The Popeye volumes from Fantagraphics are super terrific. I don’t hate TCJ I just don’t find it interesting enough to pick up every month. I buy about three issues a year.
