The gorgeous colors and the great dialogue are terrific, but for this Hawaii girl, the settings, the look of the locals, and the authentic Hawaiian pidgin make this a must-read. I'm buying the new series in the individual issues, and I'm so glad I didn't wait. The first issue of Screaming Black Thunder has Mo Kalama using a pidgin phrase I have used so much - "make die dead." (pronounce the first word mah - keh). It means "dead dead dead" or "really, really fo' real kine dead, br'ah." The Moore fills the series with all these little details. And Chinatown looks the way Chinatown did back then, and the police station, and ... Ho wow man, dis book is good! Clay Moore stated in his Word Balloon interview (w/John Suintress) that the book will be on going but only release a complete story arc... then take a break... a new story arc... then take a break, ala Criminal is doing. The breaks between story arcs may be 2 months or they may be 6 months. Regardless, the numbering will comtinue as the new stories continues. I hope this helps.
