Okay, everyone’s apparently (over)reacting to this as some part of Graeme’s Millar axe-grinding, but I’m just not seeing it.
The post doesn’t even contain a word about Millar himself, good or bad, by Graeme.
I’ll be damned if I’ll be deprived of the occasional “good old Rampage” style “check out the people freak out on this board” post just because people are hypersensitive about Graeme ever posting about Millar again just because they’re all touchy about some “pattern”.
This just doesn’t count as an anti-Millar screed, even though you’re all (comically over) reacting to it as though it were one.

I’ve been suspended/banned from Millarworld myself at least twice. I’m not a fan of the place, don’t post there anymore.

It doesn’t mean I’m a fan of self propagating spin either.

You can only grind an axe so long before you start to lose your own credibility.

Graeme is probably one of my favorite bloggers here but Christ, this is like watching a 5 year old who wasn’t invited to the birthday party throwing stones at the popular kids who were.

who’s complaining about someone criticizing mark?

im complaining about graeme’s terrible posts. and so was mike. i post on millarworld, and if i had a problem with any of those posts, i would respond to the posters.

The difference, of course, being that Graeme doesn't claim to be "fair and balanced" ... Attention, Mark Millar fans: Your Idol is already one of the top dogs at one of the two biggest comic book publishers in America, and he's probably going to get a not-inconsiderable sum or money and media exposure from this movie, and yet, you still can't stand to see him criticized? When you can't stand to see popular things criticized, the fault lies not in the critics, but in you. Popular things should be criticized, if for no other reason than that they are popular, and I say this even about popular things that I like.

I wholeheartedly endorse the derailing of this thread to the promise of a SEAGUY movie.

Jake Gyllenhall (sp?) as Seaguy. Directed by…uhm…man, most of the big names coming to mind would be too showy, or showy in the wrong way. Help me out here.

McAvoy reminded me of Tobey Maguire. I do rather suspect that I’m going to enjoy seeing him get the shit kicked out of him.

I liked Freeman’s “question,” but I prefer Millar’s original, more honest version.

This is the adaptation that really isn’t going to want to drive people to the original comic, though, isn’t it? “Eminem? Halle Berry? Da Fug?!”

This is literally a “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” thing for me, I’ll admit.

On the one hand, I thought Wanted was a terrible comic book, showcasing all of Millar’s worst traits as a writer.

On the other hand, if the trailer for the movie version of Wanted is any indication, then it will bear almost no resemblance to the comic book it’s supposedly based on … and yet, it’s still going to suck, just in a completely different way from the source material.

Oooh, gun-fu, car chases and Angelina Jolie! Fucking yawn. Even as a heterosexal male, I can no longer muster any interest in Angelina. Her acting has gone from promising to bland, and I never thought I could say this about such an attractive woman, but she’s in the media so much that I’ve literally grown tired of the sight of her.
