From stage to page: musicians as comics writers

October 22nd, 2007
Author Kevin Melrose

We’ve seen several articles about television writers moonlighting in comics, but now The New York Times looks at musicians who are doing the same: Gerard Way (The Umbrella Academy), Avril Lavigne (Make 5 Wishes), Percy Carey (Sentences), and Dave Stewart (Walk In).

The article also mentions the announced Vertigo graphic novel based on Neil Young’s Greendale album, and a planned Virgin Comics miniseries that involves … Duran Duran. Oh, please, let it be based on Hungry Like the Wolf. And subtitled, Do-do do do, do do do, do do do, do do do, do do.
