The Potomac News talks to the Luna Brothers about their new comic, The Sword:
The Luna brothers – Josh, 26, and Jonathan, 28 – are comic book creators living in Woodbridge. Dara’s featured as the heroine in their new comic, “The Sword,” which comes out on Wednesday from Image Comics. The comic has been hyped online as somewhat of a “Kill Bill” or “Highlander.”
“The idea of how a story is centered around this sword, that’s pretty much where the comparison stops,” said Josh. “It’s pretty much not really like Highlander at all.”
“It’s a revenge story,” said Jonathan. “Dara’s life gets destroyed and she uses the sword to get vengeance… I hope [readers] see a hero. I hope [readers] see someone in pain, someone who fights to try to make things right.”
The article notes that The Sword is set in and around Washington, D.C. because the book “deals with supernatural elements and they wanted something real for contrast.”
