The latest on the Superman/Superboy lawsuits

September 24th, 2007
Author Kevin Melrose

Jeff Trexler summarizes the latest developments in the Siegel family lawsuits against Warner Bros. and DC Comics over the rights to Superman and Superboy.

Those mostly take the form of motions from plaintiffs and defendants, and “additional memoranda in support of their positions,” including declarations of support for the Siegels from Mark Evanier and Jim Steranko. It was also revealed that Superman Returns director Bryan Singer will be deposed by Nov. 30.

The Superman trial is scheduled to begin on Jan. 22, 2008.

Just give the Siegel’s their money, DC! I wants me Superboy back!

  2. CHARLES DAVID HASKELL Says:

JUST COME TO AN DECISON WHERE THE SIEGEL WILL GET THEIR MONEY AND THE SUPERMAN/SUPERBOY FAN WILL STILL GET THEIR MONTHLY SUPER HEROES FIX. IT IS ALL ABOUT THE ALMIGHTY DOLLAR SIGN.I MUST AGREE WITH DEAN TRIPPE. WHAT CAN THE SIEGEL DO WITH THE SUPERBOY SERIES IF NO ONE GOING TO PRINTED THE SERIES. SIEGEL CAN’T USE SUPERBOY CURRENT SECRET IDENTITY AND MOST OF THE CAST MEMBER SINCE THEY’RE TIE TO THE SUPERMAN TITLE. I CAN’T WAITED TO SEE THE RETURN OF SUPERBOY IN HIS OWN TITLE REAL SOON. GOOD LUCK TO THE FUTURE. YOUR TRULY CHARLES DAVID HASKELL

  3. CHARLES DAVID HASKELL Says:

GOOD LUCK TO THE SIEGEL FAMILY TRYING TO PROVE THAT SMALLVILLE THE SERIES IS ABOUT SUPERBOY THE TEEN OF STEEL. IT ABOUT THE EARLY YEAR OF SUPERMAN/CLARK KENT BEFORE HE LEFT SMALLVILLE FOR THE BIG CITY AND WORKING AT THE DAILY PLANET. THE YOUNG CLARK KENT DON’T WEAR ANY SUPERMAN COSTUME AND ISN’T PATROLING SMALLVILLE FOR ANY KIND OF CRIME. HE STILL THINK THAT HE IS A NORMAL CITIZEN WHO SOLVED ALL OF KIND OF PROBLEM. GOOD LUCK IN 2008. YOUR TRULY CHARLES DAVID HASKELL

    Holy caplocks, Batman!

  5. Jason Says:

Why dosen’t DC just buy these people out, buy the copyrights outright. It might be expensive but it would end this garbage once and for all. While Siegel may have created the character initially there have been hundreds of talented people over the years who made Superman the icon he is today.

  6. Jon R Says:

It’s been a week since the trial date has been set, has Superman’s settlement been confirmed?

  7. Kevin Melrose Says:

The trial was moved to May.
