Incredible Hulk set pictures

One of these days I’m going to meet Ang Lee. I’m going to thank him for making me finally enjoy Sense and Sensibility and for making Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon … then I’m going to knee him for making the last Hulk movie where Hulk spent most of his time weeping rather than smashing. But set pictures from the next Hulk movie might make me knee him a little less hard.

Hulk Movie Set Picture

Apparently Marvel has learned from past mistakes and has devoted a large section of the next Hulk movie to smashing. RoninKengo has set pictures from the Hulk being shot in Toronto and things get smashed:

On my way home from work today I snapped some pictures of the Hulk set being readied for filming on Yonge Street in Toronto. It was awesome seeing Yonge Street done up like a Hulk-Smashed version of Harlem. Thanks to Rajiv for a few of the pictures.

This is exactly what a Hulk movie should be: smashing and more smashing. A Freddie Prinze Jr reference and I’ll go watch it at least twice. More pictures over at RoninKengo’s blog. Another set is floating around here.

Plus, Lou Ferrigno is making a cameo in it.

I actually thought there was plenty of good Hulk Smash in the first movie. I’d say there was about 40 minutes of Hulk stuff that I liked.

It just didn’t seem like a lot because it was surrounded by another 2 hours of slow moving crud.

I LIKED Ang Lee’s Hulk. It wasn’t totally, 100% successful, but it was ballsy and ambitious. I would be money that after this influx of superhero movies has died down and critics look back on the genre, HULK will be re-examined favorably, just for trying some different things.

But even if you didn’t like the movie, it’s no reason to want to hurt Ang Lee. Come on.

I was going to say basically what’s already been said above by the previous 2 posters. Also, people who hated the “panel transitions” are Just Plain Wrong, they were frickin’ beautiful.
That said, I’m looking forward to the new one, as long as they skip any notion of trying to retell the origin (other than the quickest recap flashback to catch up new viewers), and just go full speed ahead with a new story.
Plus, it would be a great laugh if someone tipped off Ang Lee and he kneed you first.

If the Hulk throws down in Harlem, any chance we’ll see Luke (Power Man) Cage cameo? No? Too fanboy-ish?

    Sweet Christmas…
