X-Force looks incredibly pointless. If only they'd have called them Bloodstrike or Wolfpack or something more interesting. >:)

Deadpool would be great on this team.

Except that he has a sense of humor, and unless I miss my guess, part of the whole point of this team is that we're supposed to take them SUPER!seriously.

Deadpool would work in the new X-Force, actually, based on their apparent theme.

Plus, did anyone realize their outfits look exactly like those of the evil X-Men in New Excalibur?

Unless... that's part of the point?

The new X-Force is like the culmination of all the worst aspects of Bendis-style team-writing, rolled into one:

"Let's take a bunch of characters who all have overlapping powers, half of whom work better as solo players than as team members anyway, and write them in such a way that their personalities seem identical, too! And then, we'll have them fight nothing but ninjas!"

Okay, that last part is speculation by me, but Jesus Christ, man.

"Hopefully I’m overreacting and Deadpool will be in another book in some capacity"

I'd be surprised if he didn't fall somewhere. I believe they're still trying to get a Deadpool movie off the ground. I always thought the pairing of the two felt forced, so maybe Nicieza is getting to play with Deadpool on his own. Or maybe teaming him with the Great Lakes Avengers (or whatever they are now) on a regular basis. Deadpool, in my opinion, could be one of those titles that hooks in people who don't necessarily want to follow all the Marvel books, but like the interaction with other characters.

Oh, and I don't hold out much hope for the new X-Force. I'll be very sad if they're taking Rahne out of X-Factor. I also think the new costumes look rather silly.

What a well balanced team...all close quarter fighters. I supposed the black and grey costumes mean they are some sort of stealth strike force. I can already smell the clichéd stench of the stories where we discover who is the most feral of the group.

"And Cable is getting his own solo title again, replacing Cable & Deadpool."

Now ordinarily I don't have a problem with Cable. In fact, it'd be fine with me if he had his own series. That's assuming, of course, that it didn't mean the cancellation of one of my favorite Marvel titles right now. So they're replacing the best part of Cable & Deadpool with the worst part of Cable & Deadpool? This may be the most devestating news I've received all year. Hopefully I'm overreacting and Deadpool will be in another book in some capacity, but I'm not feeling very optimistic.

Just when I think Marvel can't alienate me any more, they alienate me even more. DC's actually got some competition.
