Oh yes! Now that’s all kinds of cool. I always thought the use of the Black Sabbath song would be too cheesy but that rocked my fanboy socks off. Can’t wait for 2008
September 10th, 2007 at 9:49 am
wow !
I wasn’t really interested on this movie but… that was amazing ! I’ll definitely go to see it as soon as it’s out !

Iron Monger!
September 10th, 2007 at 9:52 am
It’s movies like this that make me happy I’m a fan of comics. It looks incredible. I’m not the biggest Iron Man fan, but I’m super excited for this. It looks like they captured the essence and attitude of Iron Man, and the suit just looks incredible. They hit the nail right on the head with this one.
Me likey.
However, it looks like Marvel will need to hurry up and redeem Tony Stark if they hope to bring in some new Iron Man fans next year.
Skrull reveal, anyone?
September 10th, 2007 at 10:02 am
They’ve already said he’s not a Skrull. They’re just planning to have him be more unquestionably heroic.
The movie looks great, so far, and it seems the Iron Monger will indeed be the main villain of this one.
September 10th, 2007 at 10:02 am
Freaking awesome!
September 10th, 2007 at 10:09 am
Honestly, I think Iron Man’s more popular than ever in the comics, for all the right & wrong reasons.
While Paul Jenkins overdid it with the “war profiteer” angle, I think everything Stark has done was within character.
It seems as though Robert Downey Jr.’s Stark is closer to Mark Millar’s characterization in the Ultimates. Attention whore, party animal, vain, and still likeable.
September 10th, 2007 at 10:11 am
whoa! that was cool! I’m not sure yet if the Black Sabbath fits, though. the “I am Iron Man” made me laugh at the end…
September 10th, 2007 at 10:13 am
That first appearance in the Gray armor to the sound of Sabbath just did it for me. Perfect.
September 10th, 2007 at 10:25 am
don’t get me wrong, the Sabbath power chords definitely fit. but the other part struck me funny.
September 10th, 2007 at 10:47 am
that was an awesome trailer.. looking forward to the movie
September 10th, 2007 at 10:48 am
Why does Tony Stark need to be redeemed? He’s infinitely more interesting when his motives are questionable.
September 10th, 2007 at 11:00 am
I have sent this link to everyone I know and all three of us are super excited
September 10th, 2007 at 11:21 am
the jet scene was awesome!!
September 10th, 2007 at 11:22 am
“Thats ridiculous-I dont paint.” This movie is gonna be the balls!
September 10th, 2007 at 11:33 am
Please, more interesting. The Bush presidency is way more interesting when he can arrest anyone who looks at him funny and tap phone calls with impunity. If Iron Man is more interesting this way then every hero with noble intentions is a bore. This movie is gonna rock and Iron Man will not have any questionable intentions. Nor will he do questionable things after his captivity. Villainy isn’t a measured on a sliding scale.
September 10th, 2007 at 11:51 am
Looong time Iron Man fan and I’m pleased by what I see. Any movie portrayal at this point in his long comics continuity is going to be a pastiche, and they seemed to have hit the right notes.
As far as current comics Tony goes, they are misfiring a little bit. Some of what he’s done has been way out of character, but being an asshole, being ambitious, being a manipulator of friends and enemies — that is well within his character.
September 10th, 2007 at 12:36 pm
This is easily one of my most anticipated movies. I cannot wait for it to hit the bigscreen. So far, it looks amazingly faithful to the comics.
September 10th, 2007 at 1:09 pm
I’m more excited abotu this than Dark Knight now.
I can’t believe I just typed that, but it’s true.
September 10th, 2007 at 1:11 pm
so the Mandarin is not the main villian anymore???
September 10th, 2007 at 1:18 pm
You can never go wrong with Black Sabbath
September 10th, 2007 at 1:47 pm
Crazy, has anyone else checked IMDB. . . Sam Jackson as Nick Fury.
September 10th, 2007 at 2:07 pm
Well… *just gurgles* Can’t wait…
September 10th, 2007 at 2:45 pm
Well, I can’t seem to get it to load. I just got the newset version of Quicktime (the free one) but it still doesn’t play. Any suggestions?
September 10th, 2007 at 2:53 pm
I cant get it to finish either. Looks really cool up to the part I can see though.
September 10th, 2007 at 3:23 pm
Looks Awesome. I will see this just based on the fact they were smart enough to use Iron Man the song; how can you not? But it all looks good, love the final suit.
September 10th, 2007 at 3:23 pm
The site is acting up for everyone ritght now.
September 10th, 2007 at 3:28 pm
AMAZING. Can’t wait for it. I didn’t get to see the end it just stopped
but still looks great.
September 10th, 2007 at 3:38 pm
They are working again right now.
September 10th, 2007 at 3:45 pm
oh my god that was amazing! The Black Sabbath original fits PERFECTLY. I cannot wait for May 2008.
I figured they’re doing it right back when I first heard they hired Robert Downey Jr for the role.
September 10th, 2007 at 4:09 pm
Well, the audio’s still pretty bad, but for different reasons… still, it looks pretty good. I am cautiously optimistic.
September 10th, 2007 at 4:43 pm
Iron Man’s never been too interesting to me. He always seemed like a Bruce Wayne knock-off. I really doubted they could make this movie without looking silly. I was fearing a Daredevil-quality movie, but I was very wrong. I would go as far as to say this is the best comic-movie costume translation to date. I think it’s because we aren’t working with tights. Still, this movie has all kind of coolness on it, and I can’t wait!
September 10th, 2007 at 5:08 pm
an amazing looking movie that premieres on my 20th birthday? hopefully i can score some free tickets
September 10th, 2007 at 5:31 pm
Wow, WOW WOW!!!! Can’t wait to see this, I don’t know what else to add but this:
Good job Marvel and keep them coming!
Maq
September 10th, 2007 at 5:57 pm
Well, so far, so good. Downey has reaffirmed why casting him in the role was such a good decision, though I have to say it feels like they went a tad skimpy on the ILM footage. Considering this was spliced together fairly early into post-production, though, that’s understandable.
This really does have to be the potential to be a GREAT movie…
September 10th, 2007 at 7:00 pm
Never would have thought RDJ and Jon Favreau would be responsible for a big summer movie, but it may be the reason this movie ends up being good, great teaser, I’m actually excited for it.
September 10th, 2007 at 7:16 pm
So incredible! I can’t wait! Its a shame we couldn’t see the repulsor rays at work but I’m sure that’ll come soon.
September 10th, 2007 at 7:20 pm
Unfortunately, it’ll only have 20 days or so before the new Indiana Jones movie is released, so little opportunity for staying power in the theaters, regardless of how awesome it’s going to be (which is “very”).
September 10th, 2007 at 7:50 pm
I think I just had one…
September 10th, 2007 at 7:53 pm
Color me impressed.
September 10th, 2007 at 7:54 pm
If you are having problems playing the video on the official website, try downloading the IPhone version and play it on Itunes. It should work that way plus you can put it on your Ipod/Iphone!
September 10th, 2007 at 7:56 pm
Amazing visuals.
Cheap thrills as far as “bad ass” and “hysterical” character moments are concerned.
September 10th, 2007 at 9:07 pm
THAT was all that and a bag of chips. WOW!!! I’m so there opening day…!
September 11th, 2007 at 5:44 am
that was extremely good, the suit looks perfect, the tone just right - best marvel movie since spidey?
September 11th, 2007 at 11:18 am
and I already saw it on a commercial last night…on Spike or G4 or TBS…I don’t remember
September 14th, 2007 at 9:27 am
This is a movie about a superhero named Tony.
