It was cool that he got a 10 or 15 minute standing ovation at the ceremony.

Well, he did the Golden Age Hawkman too. Covers mostly, but he and Hawkman go way back.

Grant Morrison isn't writing Nova, but the series is a very nice read every month. Check it!

As for the Kubert award, why the hell are they giving one with bloody Hawkman?!? I spent years hearing about how Joe Kubert drew Hawkman and recently, being the total Joe Kubert zombie I am, I decided to buy the Hawkman Showcase. Guess what? Joe Kubert only drew half-dozen or so stories! Why the flick they talk so much about his puny Hawkman run when he did REAL long stints on serie like Sgt. Rock or Enemy Ace (incidentally, both WAY better than Hawkman ever was)? It's just because Hawkman is a bloody super-hero?

That award should have a Rock or Enemy Ace cover. Joe Kubert should be remembered by his huge (and great) war comics work, not for a few forgettable super-hero stories starring a shameless Alex Raymond rip-off (note that Kubert wasn't the Hawkman "creator").

Joe Kubert is a living legend. He deserves more!

Best,
Hunter (Pedro Bouça)
