Marvel Streetwear

Shipping this week are Marvel dog apparel by Chi WOW WOW. Included in the line are t-shirts, tanks, hoodies, charms dog collars and a Captain America Shield bed. The clothes all have a retro feel to it using older art from Marvel.

So why Marvel? There is some history in that as the company’s first shirt actually featured a Marvel character:

Chi WOW WOW got its start making tees for dogs out of vintage and re-cycled clothing. The very first tee was made for her 4 lb. rescued Chihuahua, ELVIS, from a vintage 1970 Captain America t-shirt that the owner, Carolyn Paxton, still had in her possession from the age of 11. “Marvel fits very well into our image and brand recognition. We are known for our tomboyish and funky streetwear; how perfect to be putting the retro Super Heroes I loved as a kid, now on clothes for dogs”, quoted Ms. Paxton, back in March.

There is a special Hell reserved for people who put clothes on pets

    Dog in a Wolverine suit?

Amusingly, that’s John Bryne’s Wolverine. Guess MArvel are sticking it back to him with “We stuck your art on the dog, John! Here’s a check.”

And that WonderDoggie (WonderBitch??– “Oh no, he didn’t!”) had better be able to deflect bullets around our way. It’ll be cruelty compounded.
