In the first part of an interview at The ComicBloc, writer Sean McKeever talks about signing on with DC Comics, and Teen Titans:
Well, to be honest, a lot of the first story was already in place by the time I got there. When they offered the book to me, they said “this is the team we have.” I was given some options to make changes, but I told them that I really liked the team they had in place.
What I especially like about this team is that they’re all teens. They’re supposed to be the Teen Titans. You know, I really like the members from Wolfman’s run, but Nightwing and Donna and Starfire … they’re just not teens anymore. If you’re going to have a book called Teen Titans, they should all be teen characters.
I’ve particularly become fond of these characters through Geoff’s run. Especially the OYL stories. I love the recent additions of Kid Devil, Ravager and Miss Martian. I was happy with the team that was given to me, and decided not to make any changes.
Although it doesn’t say, I presume the second part of the interview, which focuses on Birds of Prey, will appear next week.
