COMIC BOOK CLUB CONTINUES INTO ITS TENTH MONTH OF SHOWS A LIVE WEEKLY COMIC BOOK TALK SHOW
August 30, 2007 – Comic Book Club, the live weekly comic book talk show, continues into the tenth month of its critically acclaimed run throughout September. The show will run Tuesdays at 8:00 PM: September 4, 11, 18, 25; at The PIT, 154 W. 29th Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues). The show is sponsored in part by Midtown Comics.
The New York Times says: “The audiences of comic-book aficionados, which have been growing each week since the show had its premiere in December, seem pleased. They laugh in the right places.”
The New York Press says: “The fanboy pundits themselves are the most entertaining. Tyler’s endearing mouthiness and LePage’s sardonic nature dominate the stage and play off of the guest panelists’ personalities.”
In September, top name guests from the worlds of comic books and comedy will be stopping by the show. Confirmed as of press time are:
September 4: Fred Van Lente (Super-Villain Team-Up); Eliza Skinner (Marvel.com’s Astonishing X-Men)
September 11: Kurt Braunohler (Just for Laughs Festival)
September 18: Josh Flanagan, Conor Kilpatrick, Ron Richards (iFanboy.com)
September 25: Klaus Janson (Daredevil, Batman); Christian Finnegan (Best Week Ever)
The show is hosted by Alexander Zalben, Justin Tyler, and Pete LePage, and has welcomed guests from Joe Quesada to Andrew W.K. Comic Book Club was recently featured as a panel at San Diego Comic-Con.
Tickets are $5, and can be purchased at BrownPaperTickets.com, or by calling 1-800-838-3006.
