Mythbusters Busted?

Fans responding to the recent Mythbusters Superhero Special prove that it’s not just comic fans that can be anal and nitpicky:

“Superman is the only one that used a phone booth. Spidy striped on the fly or swing. wonder woman just spinned around in a puff of smoke. oh try the down the pole as batman did. And Batgirl uhmm she just shows up ready to fight. Superman or supergirl also flies at super speed to change clothes too. I know test what us humans can do. lets see you do batman’s down the pole.”

“I thought this myth was a really pointless one. Superman is the only hero who’s been known to change in a phone booth and he does it at super human speed. He is faster than a speeding bullet you know and sence no one is faster that a speeding bullet you can’t actully test this. I have seen some preddy fast quick changes though working in live theater it’s hard not to see someone strip naked and hurry into another costume back stage. Of course quick chages like this the costumes are useually riged with velcrow to get in and out of them fast.”

“with the changing in a phone booth, there are professional magicians who can change in literaly the blink of an eye, true it has alot to do with the special clothing they where but if i was going to change into an outfit, i would have special clothing on also”

    “velcrow”.

    Heh.

  2. Howard Says:

Underdog changed in a phone booth as well. In fact, Simon Bar Sinister put mind control devices on them in one episode to bend Underdog to his evil will.

    How’s that for geeky?

  3. CodeGuy Says:

They only spent a tiny amount of time on the phone booth thing, and they pretty much said it wasn’t a myth, just something they did for the fun of it. What’s to complain about?

  4. Jennifer de Guzman Says:

Wait, because this person is posting on the Mythbusters site, he’s (I’m assuming “he”) NOT a comics fan? The first paragraph demonstrates that he’s a total comics fanboy. Writing misspelled messages on the Mythbusters bulletin board does not preclude that. Based on the fact that he totally doesn’t seem to get the tone of the show, I’d even guess he is a comics fanboy who watched the superhero episode just to bitch about what they got wrong.

    How’s THAT for speculation? ;)

  5. Jennifer de Guzman Says:

OK, so the two posters responsible for those comments post a lot on that forum, so my second speculation was wrong. But I stand by the rest. I feel like Homer Simpson at the Sci-Fi convention sometimes. “NERRRRRRRDS!” Such rage.

  6. Dean Trippe Says:

Wow. Sometimes I hate my own kind. That episode was a freaking blast, and the phone booth thing was pointless but funny.

I wish they’d done a two hour special. There was so much more to do!

episode on guard dog was no good first you need a german ringsport dog who will not take food from strangers then you need to see if dog will guard when decoy is not wearing bite suit as obviously dogs are trained to go after decoy with sleeve or bite suit
