On his blog, Jeff Smith reveals some staggering sales figures for the Scholastic editions of Bone:
I received some astonishing sales figures from Scholastic - - the paperback edition of BONE 6: Old Man’s Cave, which just shipped last month, is in its third printing for a total of 260,000 copies! The combined hard cover & paperback sales for the series to date: nearly 2,000,000.
Maybe it’s not Harry Potter, but still!
I should probably have more to say about that, but I’ll just leave it at “wow.”

My son loved your first 5 books. I bought him the 6th for his birthday on sat-sept1…he read it on sunday…tonight when it was time for bed he came downstairs crying and upset…..he wouldn’t tell me what was in the book but he made his father take it to a dumpster far away and get rid of it…i do plan to read it and i guess i should have read it first but since it is published by scholastic, i didn’t think that i needed to worry…..my son is really shaken…he, also, found a stuffed bone at a specialty toy store earlier on his birthday that he made his father get rid of and the other 5 books…he really feels like something was stolen from him…he loved the character and now he feels, sad, betrayed and scared……..
