On the SLG Publishing blog, Jennifer de Guzman says that SLG’s Haunted Mansion series will end with issue #8. The last issue will feature stories by Jennifer and her husband, Brian Belew (who worked together on the one-page story City of Books that Jennifer included in her I ♥ Comics column last week); Dan Vado and Drew Rausch; and Cory Doctorow of BoingBoing fame (along with an as-yet-unannounced artist). If you ever check out BoingBoing or have read Doctorow’s Down & Out in the Magic Kingdom, then you know he knows his Haunted Mansion.
The post includes information on SLG’s upcoming Haunted Mansion hardbound collection as well:
However, SLG is publishing a hardbound collection of the first six issues that will include all the stories, except for Roman Dirge’s story that included Lenore, as there are legal problems with us including it. We’re aiming for an October release, but the complicated nature of the project (a hard slip cover, deckled page edges, cloth covers) make me hesitant about giving a definite date.

Wow, this is a perfect match of writer and subject.

I’ve been reading this faithfully since it started. I’m a Disney freak, and sorry to see it end. The different stories behind the Mansion have been fun!
Hardcover …. hmmmm…. Oh kii-iiids… guess what mommy want’s for Christmas?
