The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette carries a curious article that’s part Q&A with Christopher Hart, author of countless how-to-draw books, part overview of the changing physique of the comic-book superhero and its relationship to real-world ideas about masculinity.
Well, sort of. The writer ends up wandering around a bit, brushing up against a few points, before settling on Hart’s soundbite-worthy conclusion, “The gigantic muscle guys of comics are still popular and here to stay. It’s the ultra-expression of the hero.”
