Charles LePage, who runs ComicList, dropped us a note about a contest he’s holding in honor of Jack Kirby’s 90th birthday. ComicList is the weekly list of new comic releases sent via email, and LePage will be giving away a few Kirby books to some of his subscribers. The complete press release can be found after the jump.

August 11, 2007 — In honor of the late great Jack Kirby’s 90th birthday, ComicList.com is going to give away a package of prizes to one fortunate winner.

On August 28, one subscriber of the popular “ComicList: Shipping This Week” newsletter will be randomly chosen to win the following prizes:

Three books from Pure Imagination:
COMPLETE JACK KIRBY 1917-1940 TPB (VOL. 1)
COMPLETE JACK KIRBY 1940-1941 TPB
COMPLETE JACK KIRBY 1947 MARCH-MAY TPB

And a hard to find (never EVER opened!) Captain America action figure
from Toy Biz:
CAPTAIN AMERICA FAMOUS COVER TOY BIZ 1998

“Jack Kirby is the foundation of the comic book industry as we know it today,” stated Charles LePage, founder and operator of ComicList. “These prizes will do more than just allow someone to think about the pleasure Jack brought us all while he was alive; they will educate someone about Jack’s earliest works in the field. I’m glad I have the opportunity to note this important date.”

Information on how to enter the contest, as well as the official rules, can be found on the ComicList web site.
