We’re all well aware here that Renee French is one of the finest artists around currently working in the funnybook medium, right? OK, so then it goes with out saying that an interview with her is always worth checking out. This time it’s courtesy of the Cross Hatch gang:
Are you a comic fan? Do you walk around and look at all of the other books?
I really like things like Sparkplug, and Global Hobo, and Buenaventure, and Picture Box, and Drawn & Quarterly—the artsy kind of stuff. There are a lot of really good artists in those that I’ve been checking out [at San Diego]. I did go to the giant t-shirt thing at the end of the hall, where there were hundreds and hundreds of t-shirts, and I bought a Punisher t-shirt there.
Was that an ironic purchase?
No! I really like the Punisher movie. Thomas Jane. I’ve watched that…a lot.
sigh. The truth is always so ugly.

Oh come on, you know how many shirtless shots of Jane are in that movie? You can’t really blame her…
