Jim Rugg provides artwork for VH1 documentary

Street Angel creator and Plain Janes artist Jim Rugg has provided comic-style artwork for an upcoming documentary for VH1 called NY77: The Coolest Year in Hell. The documentary will premiere Aug. 11.

Jim’s also going to be at the Toronto Comic Arts Festival Aug. 18 and 19, and is currently accepting commissions like he did for San Diego … drop him an email and reserve your own Aquaman piece, like the one to the right.

In this excerpt from the VH1 Rock Doc: NY 77: The Coolest Year in Hell (premiering August 11, 2007), a memorable rap battle between Grandmaster Caz-DJ Disco Wiz and Afrika Bambaataa is recounted in classic comic book style by the artist Jim Rugg.
