Gelatt and Lacy’s Labor Days

Benton Bagswell from Labor Days

One of the cool upcoming projects I discovered in San Diego last weekend was Oni’s Labor Days, which is written by Philip Gelatt and drawn by Rick Lacy.

The book isn’t due until next year, but they’ve set up a production blog so you can follow their progress on the title. Phil describes the title as “it’s repo man meets james bond meets hercules.”

It’s that last reference that provides the title … think of it as the 12 Labors of Hercules done by some poor everyman in present-day London. The image to the right is Benton Bagswell, the main character.

The duo had an ashcan available to promote the book in San Diego, which you can read here.

If it’s set in London, shouldn’t it be Labour Days?

Neat character design, though. Like Spike Spiegel as played by Dennis Waterman.
