ComiXology networking site launches

comiXology

I have to admit I’m not all that sure what it’s about, but comiXology — “a social networking site that brings Web 2.0 to the comic book market” — has launched.

From what I can gather from the brief press release and from scanning the site, comiXology utilizes a widget that allows users to preview, search and rate new comics releases. Although the website is fairly barebones now, it promises content, including weekly columns and blogs, soon.

ComiXology is the creation of former Marvel senior web designer John D. Roberts and partners David Steinberger and Peter Jaffe.

Is it just me or does signing up for this not work?

Hmm. I’m pretty sure this site used to be iComicsOnSale’s web component, and it doesn’t look like they’ve changed much other than the name…

Login should be working now (it is in beta form still).

Yep, it’s the new face from iComicsOnSale. We’re constantly adding features and soon will be revealing columns and a short interview podcast to accompany our Feature of the Week.
