NBC’s Heroes has been nominated for eight Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series, and a nod for Oustanding Supporting Actor for Masi Oka (Hiro). The nominations were announced this morning in a ceremony in Los Angeles.
Hellboy: Storm of Swords was nominated for Outstanding Animated Program for programming of one hour or more.
Heroes also received nods for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series (David Semel, “Genesis”), Outstanding Art Direction for a Single-Camera Series (”Genesis”), Outstanding Special Visual Effects (”Five Years Gone”), Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing (”Genesis”), Outstanding Sound Mixing (”Genesis”), and Outstanding Stunt Coordination (”Genesis”).
The CW’s Smallville was nominated for Outstanding Sound Editing (”Zod”).

The Emmy Awards will be presented in a three-hour ceremony on Sept. 16. The honors for technical achievement will be announced Sept. 8.

Here’s hoping Heroes wins a few of those, especially in the categories of outstanding drama series, and supporting actor. It’s a GREAT show!
