7-Eleven has teamed up with 20th Century Fox to help promote the upcoming Simpsons movie, and in doing so, has turned 12 of their stores into Kwik-E-Marts, complete with squishie machines, Radioactive Man comics, Buzz Cola and Krusty-O’s brand cereal. I visited the store in Mountain View, Calif. yesterday, where countless Google employees were taking pictures and the Buzz Cola was sold out! Luckily regular 7-Elevens are also stocking the special Simpsons merchandise, so I picked some up a few miles away. Unfortunately, there’s no Duff Beer to be had, but I guess they gotta save something for the sequel.
Per the owner of the store, the promotion is set to run through the end of July. Cities with participating stores include Mountain View, Los Angeles, New York, Orlando, Vegas, Burbank, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Seattle, D.C. and Vancouver.
Check out the pictures I took after the jump.

This disturbs me.
When the subject of satire enters into a commercial arrangement with the satire itself…
It’s akin to George Bush starring in a fummetti version of Steve Bell’s “If…”

I took some pictures of the NYC store, which is located on 42nd between 9th and 10th. As PR stunts go, this one is a lot of fun.
