ive was diagnosed in 1999 with pulmonary fibrosis doc said probably had it for 6-7 yrs earlier was given 18mos max to live denied lung transplant was on prendisone for 10 yrs but i still smoke use oxygen too but its 2011 and im still here and dont plan on dying quite just yet

Hi, I am just waiting for my results. I can feel for you. They, as in the doc’s think that I have pulmonary fibrosis. I am 45 and have alwasy been healthy. I too am not a smoker. I am sooo scared. I hope you feel better really soon. Let’s hope you are one of the exceptions. Exceptions do happen.

Sorry about your illness. You may like to look into NAC(over the counter). My husband has PF also. There is a support group called HuffnPuff you might get some support and information. Also helps to go to a large teaching center that specializes in PF. National Jewish in Denver is #1,

One of the kindest, most gracious and generous guys in the industry, which is all the more remarkable considering that he’s one of the best writers this medium has ever produced, period.

I got an email from him last night and he is hopeful and very much still the Steve Gerber we all adore.

That is indeed some rough news, I can’t imagine sitting down to blog about something like that, much less living with it everyday. I hope the transplant option can help him out.
