Lynda Carter: Cast an unknown as Wonder Woman

Entertainment Tonight – “ET,” if you’re cool — sits down with actress-singer Lynda Carter, and cuts through all the stuff about her sobriety and her upcoming CD to get to the important question: Who should play Wonder Woman in the movie we’ll probably never see in our lifetime?

“I think [they should cast] an unknown,” she tells ET’s Thea Andrews. “And I think the problem that they’re having is getting the right script and trying to find the right person at the right age. By the time they get the right script, maybe the person they were thinking about is now ten years older.”

Several actresses have been rumored to be in consideration for the role since 2001, including frontrunner Sandra Bullock, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Mariah Carey, Charisma Carpenter and Sophia Bush.

As for the plotline, Lynda says, “I think they need to tie the story of what happened to the old Wonder Woman into where the new one is. They could somehow bridge it, and let the baton be [passed along].”

You can watch video of the interview at the link, but that means having to tolerate Thea Andrews’ unconvincing “I’m interested in what you have to say” face.
