Bah. I knew there was another item I wanted to include in the movie-rumor roundup: E! Online’s Reel Girl has a brief Q&A with Brandon Molale (Dodgeball), whose name is being bandied about for the role of Captain Marvel in the promised Shazam movie.
I have to admit I’ve never heard of him, but he certainly looks the part. Others seem to think so, too, as there’s an online petition to cast him in the film. Of course, there’s an online petition for most anything …
“My name and The Rock are the two names,” Molale tells E! Online. “I had people contact me over a year ago about this. So I said, Hey, you know what, look. If there’s any DC or Marvel character that I look like, it’s this guy. The similarities are ridiculous. I said I would love to do it.”
Earlier rumors suggested The Rock, aka Dwayne Johnson, could be up for the role of Black Adam, which is something Molale would like to see: “[The Rock] looks a lot more like Black Adam than he does Captain Marvel. So, I would love to see him play the bad guy. You don’t ever see Dwayne play the bad guy … and who doesn’t want to be the villain?!”

Molale looks the part, though I admit to not having seen Dodgeball so I can’t comment on his acting skills. The Rock, however, definitely has my vote for Black Adam.

Stunning likeness - if he played Cap’n Marvel, and The Rock played Black Adam, that might actually get my ass back in a theater seat (which hasn’t happened since Jay and Silent Bob struck back).

Now that man looks like a Superhero. He could kick Brandon Routh’s a$$ with both hands tied behind his back.

Johnson does, in fact, play bad guys, just not for a lot of the film’s running time.
This picture (http://www.imdb.com/gallery/granitz/6157/Events/6157/BrandonMo_Jesse_13757023_600.jpg.html?path=pgallery&path_key=Molale,%20Brandon) really sells me, though.

Molale should be cast as Captain Marvel, The Rock would be ok as Black Adam. The film makers MUST bring in DC artist Alex Ross for the movie’s creative consultant. He is a Shazam expert and would make sure the director doesn’t do anything stupid. Stacy Keibler should be cast as Beautia, Joe Pesci or Dustin Hoffman should be Dr Sivana, Micky Dolenz should be Uncle Dudley, and since Elvis was a great Shazam fan, the film should use his songs on the soundtrack.

Omar Sharif should be cast as the wizard Shazam.

WOW! Can you say superhero?? Not only does he look the scarily look the part, but the man has been acting non-stop for years! What a perfect role for him to take center stage. I agree with the comment above, if they cast Molale in the role, cast Johnson as the evil-doer…I may be back in the theatre - all four kids in tow! Heck - I’ll take the neighbors kids too!

He looks great. His face is bit too rough for my taste but he’s the closest fit I’ve seen.
