Considering all of the Green Arrow/Black Canary hype at the conventions this weekend, someone at Comic Bloc has one of the strangest theories for the future of DC’s books out there:
“Okay, what if with all of this build up, the whole Black Canary/Green Arrow wedding, the special Wedding planner issue, etc., and the upcoming title, that Ollie is killed at the end and the title turns out to be Conner as Green Arrow.”
The rest of the board isn’t so convinced:
“I don’t think so, they just brought him back, what, 5 years ago? I don’t think they are going to kill him off just yet. I wouldn’t mind a conner title though.”
“What if Ollie dies? Well, then Conner takes over (again), Kevin Smith kicks Didio in the junk (again), and eventually they resurrect him (again). Not necessarily in that order.”
“Man, someone get in touch with DC when they put ‘Batman Dies!’ on a cover every year. Geez.”

I agree with the people saying that DC wouldn’t kill Ollie this soon. I think Ollie is an important enough character that there has to be at least a 1 year gap between revival and his next death.
However, I like the idea that Black Canary doesn’t marry Ollie and the book focuses on her and Connor. Perhaps she ends up marrying Connor for some contrived reason. Perhaps Ollie retires and takes on a support position in their little hero team. It does seem like there’s some sort of twist coming.

Ack, I meant a 15 year gap, not a 1 year gap. I wish we could edit comments.

“His next death” - it’s a sad comment on the industry that we can type that phrase with no irony or sarcasm implied.
