Stan Lee

Ben Widdicombe of the New York Daily News reports that Stan Lee is developing an animated series for MTV starring everyone’s favorite heiress-turned-jailbird, Paris Hilton.

Oh, Stan. Did we learn nothing from Stripperella?

According to Widdicombe, there’s no start date for the cartoon. But we do know that Hilton’s ex-boyfriend, Paris Latsis, will get some sort of credit on the show, despite his limited involvement.

    Oh Stan…

  2. ComicMom Says:

Whatever happened to his Ringo Starr as superhero cartoon?

  3. Sluggo Says:

Stan Lee, innovator and creative visionary, suffered the death of his soul today. The full story, after this episode of “The Simple Life”.

    A cartoon about Paris Hilton.

Sometimes, pop culture just sucks. Hard.

  5. Mark Engblom Says:

    Stan. Retire. Please.

Consider the source. The New York Daily News has reported lots of media deals and announcements that come to nothing, and several of which have been absolutely false.

I wouldn’t put it past Stan these days (and this is coming from somebody who apologetically likes Stan), but until confirmed, this kinda smacks of somebody overhearing something, and J. Jonah Jameson smacking it all over Page 6 because it’s good publicity against Spider-Man.

  7. Matthew E Says:

Just a second. Her name’s Paris and her ex-boyfriend’s name is Paris? How is that possible? Paris isn’t even a real (first) name! Hasn’t been since ‘Romeo and Juliet’.

  8. Alan Says:

    Meh.
    after striperella, what’s the difference?

I guess he’ll attach his name to anything for a buck - but can he even do that anymore, or does the eponymous media company with which he is no longer affiliated own his name too?

  9. Mr. Oliphant Says:

    Oh, what a shameless whore.

  10. mtx Says:

    which one?

  11. Scott Rowland Says:

If Stan wants to do this, why not? It’s not like it hurts anyone, and it may be fun. Maybe he considers it a challenge to try something like this. It’s better than regurgitating old work, like John Byrne, tracing over old X-Men pages to sell on eBay.

  12. elvee Says:

He created Spider-Man. I say he’s square with the house, so he can do whatever he pleases. But what can he possibly do with a character so utterly dull and monosyllabic?

“With the mini-DV cam comes great responsibility.”

“Mom! Mom! This isn’t right, and you wouldn’t like me when I’m angry!” She then turns green and grows into a normal size person.

I don’t get it. Why does it seem like Stan has to prove himself all over again? What’s with all the crazy projects lately?!
