Avengers, JLA inch closer to big screen

JLA/Avengers #1

It looks as if The Avengers and Justice League of America could be the next comic book adaptations winding their way to the big screen.

I said could.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Zak Penn (The Incredible Hulk) will write the live-action adaptation for Marvel’s Mightiest Heroes. Meanwhile, at Warner Bros., Kieran Mulroney and Michele Mulroney (Mirrors) have submitted a draft for DC’s Justice League.

The trade paper ponders whether “marquee superheroes,” like Superman and the Hulk, would be included in the ensemble casts, should the movies get the green light. If so, will we see Brandon Routh and Christian Bale, and Edward Norton and Robert Downey Jr. competing for screen time?

Neither the fans nor The Hollywood Reporter are holding their breaths. “The answers could be years in the making,” the paper writes.

It’ll never happen. It would be beyond belief if it did, but it’ll never happen. PS: this was the best crossover ever. ^^
