Aquaman TV pilot, free of charge

June 8th, 2007
Author JK Parkin

If you didn’t have access to it on iTunes when it was posted last year (or were too cheap to pay for it) and didn’t download the bootleg, you can check out the Aquaman pilot below, courtesy of AOL video and Colleen Doran.

Update: apparently it only plays correctly in America, so click on more to see it.

Can you put that behind a cut, please, as those of us outside the United States of America can’t see the clip – thanks a bunch, two-tiered internet – and it flashes up a smug little message every time the page loads up.

    Thanking you.

PS – I’d let you watch my pilot…sniff…

    Yeah, what he said.

  3. Jason Says:

Anyway to make this downloadable? Work has it blocked.

  4. JK Parkin Says:

I put behind a “More” tag … what does the smug message say exactly?

I have no idea how to make it downloadable, Jason. You’d have to ask AOL, where it’s embedded from.

That was excellent. I have no idea why they wouldn’t pick that up. I’m not even an Aquaman fan and that was just really good TV. Wow. I wish they’d give it another look.

That was better than I expected. I am glad the actor playing AC went on to play Green Arrow, but I still don’t understand why we got stuck with another season of “7th Heaven” and shows like this didn’t get picked up when the WB and UPN merged.

I liked it. Sorry to see it never got picked up by the CW. Alot of cool subplots set up in the first eps , and some nice special effects that would’ve really surprised the jaded viewer. The two reasons I had heard for it being dropped was it’s budget scared the network execs. The second was the president of the netework wasn’t a too big fan of genre shows, and wanted to keep them a minium on the network.

Scifi channel should have picked this up but as usual they just make really bad cgi monster movies. They did well with Stargate but seem not to have good sense with anything else.

For those of you in Canada, YTV will be airing the Aquaman pilot tonight at 8 pm E/P.

  11. Dawn Says:

Saw it on YTV. Blech. Thank goodness it didn’t make it to series.

I’m not sure what those people were smoking that liked this show, but what a stinker! I’m not sure which was worse – the acting or the script. And if there are any awards to go out for this show, it should be Ving Rames’ manager for convinving anyone that he has any talent at all! P.U. indeed!

  14. Eric Says:

I think Bob may have been a little harsh. True, the show wouldn’t win any Emmys for the acting, but it was a pleasant diversion filled with the requisite pretty people that the CW loves to cast. It was fun to see all of the guest stars from Smallville make new appearances on this show.
When I consider all the horrible programs that make it to the air right now (how many game shows about remembering lyrics do we really need?!?), it’s a shame that something with the environmental message nestled within the fantasy adventure couldn’t break in.
