Variety reports that Warner Bros. has optioned a script from fledgling screenwriter Paul Sopocy for a Thundercats live-action movie, based on the popular 1980s animated series and toy line.
The characters also have appeared over the years in comic books published by Marvel and DC/Wildstorm. Warner Bros. has owned the rights to Thundercats since 1989, when it purchased Telepictures Corp.
Sopocy’s script reportedly is an origin story focusing on Lion-O’s coming of age as leader of the group of feline humanoids.

I can’t even imagine what a live action Thundercats movie would be like. Transformers, I was able to imagine… even He-Man (despite the movie from the 80’s), but Thundercats?
I dunno.

As someone that is proud to admit to owning Thundercats cufflinks I have to say this if likely the best news I’ll hear all month.
