Great White Snark has several posts up on this weekend’s SuperCon in San Jose, including a report from the Q&A with Jim Lee:
Responding to a question about what projects he’d like to work on, Jim indicated that he might work on a short story for Legion of Super-Heroes. He’s also spoken with Brad Metzer about doing something for Justice League.
In answer to a question about his favorite fringe comic book characters, he named Matter-Eater Lad (power: to eat and digest matter in all of its forms) of the Legion of Super-Heroes. Good call. He also mentioned Mr. and Mrs. Bullet Head (i.e., the characters that had big, bullet-shaped domes on their heads) and Eunice the Untouchable(?).
I think it’s actually Unus the Untouchable, the X-Men baddie who can’t be touched. I don’t remember if Unus ever appeared during Lee’s run on X-Men; I don’t think he did. And Mr. and Mrs. Bullet Head are Bulletman and Bulletgirl, the inspiration for Bulleteer from Seven Soldiers.
Mark Evanier also has reports from the con, both from Saturday and Sunday.

Thanks for the clarifications… Jim (and I) had forgotten Mr. and Mrs. Bullet Heads’ actual names. And I’ve just never heard of Unus. Consider me enriched.

I like the idea that his mother was called Eunice, though. And that maybe she wore pinafores and hair curlers. Like a mutant Nora Batty.

Super-Con was a lot of fun. It was a great COMIC BOOK convention, not a geek culture con like most cons are these days.
