The Williamsport, Pa., Sun-Gazette reports on the launch this week of Otaku USA, the latest of many anime and manga magazines to pop up in the past year or so.
Williamsport-based Sovereign Media/Publishers Service printed 100,000 copies of the first issue, which is being distributed by Curtis Circulation, a division of Hachette Distribution Services. The bimonthly magazine has a $9.99 cover price.
ComiPress, meanwhile, provides a little context, updating its 2006 report about the field of English-language anime and manga magazines.
