Cinema Blend has an interview up with Mindfreak‘s Criss Angel, who says he’s taking on a role in the upcoming Mandrake the Magician film adaptation:
The reviews seemed to be pretty good on my acting, so I’ve just signed on to do a movie which I’ll be shooting at the end of this year called Mandrake. Which is based on the comic book strip. It’s gonna kind of be like a kind of cool realm of The Crow but different of Mandrake the magician coming to life. I’m designing and creating the visual effects for that, as well as going to be acting in it. So that’s a very exciting prospect that I’m looking forward to do.

“Acting in it” doesn’t mean “starring in the title role,” does it?

WHHAAAAAAAAT ? Did he ever even OPEN a mandrake comic strip? It has nothing to do with Chriss Angel. Go do “the crow 55″ and leave this alone, boy.

You’re right … based on what he said, he could end up playing the bad guy or some other role. I’ll update it to make it clearer that his role is not yet clear.
If that makes sense.

In a world where David Copperfield and David Blaine are eventually mocked (I’m more of a Penn & Teller sort of guy myself), I’m looking forward to the end of Angel’s 15 minutes.

Criss Angel’s nothing but a bad joke! His greatest illusion was in making his fans believe in his sincerity & ethics, which has proven to be just as phony as the rest of him. The only place his face should be shown is on a Three-Dollar bill.
