Well, this is Cecil, signing off and saying goodbye for now.
As my last entry, I thought I’d introduce you guys and gals to a few Young Adult novels that have characters that love comic books as much as you do.
There is a great novel by E. Lockhart called FLY ON THE WALL. Gretchen Yee goes to an Arts High School and feels invisible. She longs to be a fly on the wall of the boys locker room to know what they are thinking. And then her wish comes true. If you like Kafka, and Spiderman, trust me, you’re going to love this book.
There is also a great novel called THE ASTONISHING ADVENTURES OF FAN BOY AND GOTH GIRL by Barry Lyga. Fanboy has fancy dreams of showing his work to an author at a comic-book convention with the hopes of being discovered. And then Goth Girl IMs him.
And there is also my very own novel BOY PROOF, about Egg, who loves Post-apocalyptic Science Fiction Films and comic books and Max who wants to write Graphic Novels.
And we don’t have to say goodbye! If you want to still know what I’m up to, you can visit me over at my regular blog.
So I just wanted to say a very big THANK YOU to all of you who visited me, commented, asked questions, and made me feel so welcome here! Also a big thanks to JK Parkin and the Newsarama crew for letting me be a guest blogger here for the month of May to celebrate the debut of The PLAIN Janes.
XO Cecil

Cecil, thanks for the book tips and for hanging out at B@N for a spell.
JK, bring on more guest bloggers (no offense to Kevin, Graeme, Tom, etc…)!

Cecil, I fell in love with your characters in Boy Proof, which was one of my fave YA titles when it came out. And I love Plain Janes. I’m a longtime YA librarian (now a freelance consultant specializing in graphic novels for various companies) and advocate for graphic novels in libraries. Thanks for writing such a fantastic story (and thanks to DC for getting Jim Rugg to illustrate it). And yes, now I’m on the lookout for Beige!
