Missed it: Kids’ book publisher Scholastic (also owner of the Graphix imprint) will publish the manga-styled, anti-bullying comic, “Invisible Girl,” created by a group of eighth-grade students at Harriett Todd Public School in Orilla, Ontario, as part of a contest:

The book, which features an anti-bullying theme that encourages bystanders to stand up for those who are being targeted, started out as an entry in the Scholastic “Kids Are Authors” contest.

After their submission made it to the finals in the contest, Renton received a call that one of the contest judges from the company’s publishing division was interested in the book.

The book will be published next spring and, best of all, the school received $1,000, which will be used to purchase more comics and graphic novels for the school library.
