They’re creepy, they’re kooky but apparently they’re nowhere near ooky enough to keep them off of the stage:
“The Addams Family,” a cartoon about an eccentric family that was made into a hit movie in 1991, is coming to Broadway as a musical.
The producers said “The Addams Family” musical was scheduled for the 2009-10 Broadway season. The libretto will be written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, writers of the 2006 Tony Award-winning musical “Jersey Boys.”

Apparently the musical will be directed by Phelim McDermott and Julian Crouch, best known for the macabre “Shockheaded Peter.” No word on if there will be a big finger-snapping number.
In related news, Morticia Addams took the top MILF spot by only four votes. I’m sure Addams would be proud.
