I think Halo is our generation’s Star Wars. It’s got a rich and untapped back story and world view that completely inspires me and millions of others. That’s why the game is such a hit, that’s why it raises past being a game into a cultural phenomenon, because it has richness to it that other games, and frankly, a lot of movies and television shows simply do not have.
It was an honor to be asked to add something to the Halo pot. To bring to Halo what the graphic novel also brought, some humanity and perspective. Something you can’t get in the game based solely on the nature of the different mediums… We also tried to create a juicy Sci-Fi story that, even if you don’t play or know anything about Halo, you could buy this and enjoy it just on its own character and storytelling momentum. If you are a Halo die-hard, you will find connections, characters, and references to not only the three Halo games, but the novels as well.

Bendis is 40. Hate to break it to you pal, but our generation’s Star Wars *is* Star Wars.

Halo is not our generations Star Wars–Halo is a video game. Star Wars is story and a movie.
As fun as the Halo franchise is–it’s got all the depth of a kiddie pool.
Good try trying to shill books Brian.

Halo doesn’t quite yet have the depth of mythology of a Metal Gear Solid, Grand Theft Auto, or even a Legend of Zelda.

It’s not like Star Wars has much debt either

“Halo” has as much depth as “Space Invaders” the game from 1978.

Well, it has a debt to The Hidden Fortress.

GTA and MGS have more depth of mythology than Halo? Please.
Seems none of you have read the Nylund novels.
