Today’s Street Art – Knitta Please!

May 18th, 2007

This week L.A. has been invaded by knitters! The street art collective Knitta, Please! from Houston is in town and I was so excited to find one of their attacks right in my neighborhood!

In The Plain Janes, the girls do a knitting art attack. They make hats and scarves for public works.

I think we can safely say that telephone poles are good places for art. They are everywhere. And you can tape, staple or twist tie stuff to them!

What a great splinter prevention piece. :)

Awesome. I love public ‘guerilla art’ projects like this. When I lived in NYC, there was an artust who’d gained permission from the city gov. to mosaic street signposts. I’d love to do that in Manila or Indonesia- maybe using bits of broken cd’s and dvd’s and assorted broken pottery.

    Teehee…”art”.
